ENUNCIADO Y ORACIÓN COMO UNIDADES TEXTUALES ENUNCIATIVAS

In this article we propose that the terms and concepts 'sentence' and ' utterance', as applied to the grammatical study of Spanish, be considered as belonging to the textual rather that the syntactic level. As is well known, two differents levels can be distinguished at the level of text: the communicative and the enunciative. We propose that both 'sentence' and 'utterance' are units that belong to the enunciative level, the former paradigmatic, the latter syntagmatic-like the phoneme and the syllable, respectively, at the phonological level. From this perspective, the utterance becomes the basic element for sentence combination, consisting of one or more sentences. This being so, the study of sentence coordination (either asyndetic or not) is not the purpose of Syntax but of Text Linguistics (or Textology).En este artículo se propone que los términos y conceptos de oración y enunciado, aplicados al estudio gramatical de la lengua española, sean considerados como unidades del plano textual, no del sintáctico. Se distinguen dos niveles dentro del plano textual: el comunicativo y el enunciativo. Oración y enunciado son las unidades del nivel enunciativo del plano textual, la primera paradigmática (como el fonema en el plano fónico) y sintagmática la segunda (como la sílaba en el plano fónico). El enunciado es el esquema mínimos de combinación de oraciones, y puede constar de una o más oraciones. La coordinación y la yuxtaposición de oraciones no son, pues, objeto de estudio de la sintaxis, sino de la lingüistica del texto (o textología)
