EL SUICIDIO CONSUMADO EN MURCIA, 1990-1992

We analyzed suicide behaviour in Murcia, during the period 1990-92. We have found a global rate of 6.31 per 100.000 inhabitants (9.52 and 3.20, for men and women, respectively). Also, we have studied the occurrence in the different areas (Judicial Districts). We confirm prior findings: the more aged, the more prone to commit suicide (with a great amount of young people); males did it three times more than females; the method and the months depend on individuals´ sex.Se ha analizado la conducta suicida en la Comunidad Autónoma de Murcia durante el período 1990-92, hallándose una tasa total de 6,31 suicidios por cada 100.000 habitantes, y de 9,52 y 3,20 para varones y mujeres, respectivamente, y desglosándose su ocurrencia en las diferentes Comarcas (Partidos Judiciales). Se confirman hallazgos anteriores: el suicidio crece con la edad, lo comete más del triple de hombres que de mujeres (con una enorme subida en los jóvenes), diferenciándose los sexos en la elección del mes de ocurrencia y en los métodos a utilizar
