This paper draws on an ongoing experience of supporting participatory action research for sustainable food systems in Brussels. To share our insights and identify learnings from this experience, we bring together discussions in the literature on the development of an urban food systems perspective on agroecology, the institutionalization of agroecology and of participatory action research.
