This article considers the position taken, between 1833 and 1857, by the Catholic press in Mexico City about the relationship faith-reason. Similarly, it explores the efforts of the press to restore the unity between intellect and revelation that had been broken in Europe in the late XVIII.Este artículo analiza la postura que la prensa católica de la capital de México tomó en torno a la relación fe-razón entre los años de 1833 y 1857. De igual forma, se estudian los esfuerzos que ésta llevó a cabo para restituir la unidad entre la verdad razonada y la verdad revelada que en Europa se había quebrantado a finales del siglo XVIII
