When one considers the religious fervor of our Founding Fathers and their belief that religion was an indispensable support to our Republic, one is all the more disappointed by the last sixty years of Supreme Court cases dealing with religion. My purpose is to highlight some historical facts that have been pushed aside by recent First Amendment cases, expose the anti-religious tenor of those cases, and examine some effects of those cases upon American culture
