Language is a carrier in human culture therefore both language and culture are inseparable. Relationship between language and culture can be interpreted very well in human life as proverbs. Due to this reason, proverbs teaching is vital to Mandarin teaching as language. However, this was taken very lightly by undergraduate qualified Mandarin lecturers as many of them sometimes don’t even recognize common proverbs. Therefore, it is extremely recommended to introduce usage of common proverbs during Mandarin teaching subjects such as Chinese Comprehensive and Chinese Conversation.
