Por uma educação física antirracista

Human Rights Center of the School of Physical Education and Sport of the University of São Paulo: an educational perspectiveThis article discusses the contribution of black Physical Education teachers in the exercise of Diversity Pedagogy. Methodologically, we opted for theoretical study, content analysis, and semi-structured interviews. The research pointed out that black teachers redefi ned the social function of school Physical Education through experience reports that legitimize the relevance of ethnic-racial diversity in the P.E. curriculum, which is a viable and potent way of combating racism and inequalities. The results revealed the necessary knowledge for the construction of anti-racist Physical Education; the recognition that came from the pedagogical coordinators, who realized the importance of the contribution of Physical Education classes in the construction of the students’ Afro-Brazilian identity, and the process of ethnic-racial issues’ appropriation that defend education for black human rights in its integrityO presente artigo discute a contribuição dos docentes negros de educação física no exercício da pedagogia da diversidade. Metodologicamente, optou-se pelo estudo teórico, análise de conteúdo e entrevistas semiestruturadas. A pesquisa apontou que os docentes negros ressignificaram a função social da educação física escolar por meio dos relatos de experiência que legitimam a relevância da diversidade étnico-racial no currículo desse componente, sendo este um caminho viável e potente no combate ao racismo e às desigualdades. Os resultados apontaram os saberes necessários para a construção da educação física antirracista; o reconhecimento das coordenadoras pedagógicas, que perceberam a contribuição das aulas de educação física na construção da identidade afro-brasileira dos discentes e o processo de apropriação das questões étnico-raciais na área em defesa da educação em e para os direitos humanos negros
