Website and Communications / Development with IAGC

This summer, I completed a summer IMSA Internship with the Illinois Association for Gifted Children (IAGC), a non-profit aimed to provide quality education to students across the state. During this internship, I worked independently and remotely due to COVID-19 with some assistance via email or Zoom from my business mentor to complete a variety of tasks for the IAGC. Some of the endeavors that I took part in were creating website pages. Particularly, I worked on a page promoting social and emotional support for students, a page promoting and acknowledging the excellence gap, and a page answering commonly asked questions for members. Initially, my business mentor requested that I individually develop a project to define my summer, and these were projects were to be tasks that I would be interested in that would also help the IAGC fulfill their mission. And seeing as the IAGC did not have these items, developing these webpages was a benefactor to them while simultaneously allowing me to express my creativity through an outlet I was passionate about. While the project was primarily intended to benefit the IAGC and their website, there were ways that this work helped me develop as both a worker and as an individual.
