The objective of this work is to study the epiphany in Wilson Bueno’s tankas. The poetic composition of tanka appeared in Japan, around the year 710, and it is constituted by 31 syllables distributed into five verses with 5-7-5-7-7. Its origin is in the waka, poetic form that sang historical and legendary excerpts of the Japanese people’s lives. Wilson Bueno searched in the tankas the inspiration to compose the poems of two of his books: Pequeno tratado de brinquedos (1996) and Pincel de Kyoto (2008).
