O romance mítico de Michel Tournier

Michel Tournier had a solid background in Philosophy and studied Ethnography with Lévi-Strauss. All this background was signifi cant in his creative process because, connecting literature and ethnographic research, he gives centrality to myth. Consequently, his work is deep and original: following ethnography and psychoanalysis, he revisits some forgotten myths that present exemplary existential situations that throw some light on the most secret and obscure human aspirations. Esse fato foi decisivo para seu processo criador pois, unindo literatura e pesquisa etnográfi ca, ele coloca o mito no centro desse processo. Daí decorrem a profundidade e a originalidade de sua obra: na esteira da etnografi a e da psicanálise, ele retoma alguns mitos esquecidos, que propõem situações existenciais exemplares, para, desse modo, lançar luz sobre as mais secretas e obscuras aspirações humanas neles contidas.
