Trees are important components of urban greenery because of their large stature and longevity, and their ability to enhance the environmental quality of city landscapes. However, benefits and hazards associated with trees depend on their size, which changes over time and varies among species. While urban trees are often measured during routine management, the full value of these data is rarely realised. Our study uses nation-wide inspection records from Singapore to develop allometric models for 54 species grown in the urban tropics (n = 345 794), a region that is poorly represented in allometric literature.
