Género y Sexualidad, en la formación inicial de maestros y maestras ¿Por qué no un curriculum sexual?

This paper discusses the importance of educating future teachers in gender and sexuality. Both things must be treated together because different cultures have traditionally been creating so-called gender roles based on sexuality. In Spain, sexuality and gender haven´t been so considered both educationally and in the legislation. In recent decades, timid advances due to the adoption of laws regulating equality aspects were noted. The paper´s main idea is to propose ways to discuss issues of sex-gender (s) with students from Faculties of Education as the training curriculum does not work on such content. In order to do this, first of all we need to review how they are being slowly introduced at various stages of the Spanish educational system. The negative implications of the absence of gender-sensitive subjects in Grade curriculum are also mentioned. The paper proposes a complementary instructional curriculum model for future teachers who considered sex-gender system as a category of something to question values and mistaken beliefs in human relations. Finally, this instructional model based on the curricular intervention on three levels will be described as macro, meso and micro
