This chapter explores the experiences and perceptions of older Korean people in New Zealand in relation to the issues of elder mistreatment and filial piety. The author acknowledges that older migrants face a range of challenges as they have moved to another culture in later adulthood. At the same time, the author asserts the claim that classifying older migrants just as a fragile or at-risk group does little to help us understand how people transcend adversity. This chapter, therefore, attempts to identify the factors that allow older people to achieve and maintain resilience under adverse circumstances
