Introduction: Occupational Therapists are an essential part of any multi-disciplinary team supporting someone with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Traditionally, occupational therapists have been primarily concerned with promoting quality of life, participation and engagement in occupation. However, concern is mounting that occupational therapists working with those with autism may be too narrowly concerned with only sensory aspects of a person’s behaviour. Occupational therapists may have mixed levels of confidence when working with people with ASD and challenging behaviour.
