Background: Patellofemoral pain is a common orthopedic condition in the athletic population. Previous investigators focused on exploring the etiology and investigating the effectiveness of different treatment approaches for patellofemoral pain. However, the severity of symptoms and its corresponding impact on quality of life (QOL) in athletes at different skill levels have not been explored. Such information may help in formulating rehabilitation strategies targeting different levels of athletes.
