Objective: To identify the age of onset of eating disorder behaviours (EDBs) and weight/shape overvaluation in a community sample and to evaluate the association between the age of onset and duration of EDBs with health related quality of life (HRQoL). Method: Data were extracted from the 2008/2009 Health Omnibus Survey (HOS). In 2008, 3034 and in 2009, 3007 participants from a randomly selected sample of households in the Australian population were interviewed for current and age of onset of EDBs.
