To date, the majority of research studies conducted on the self-compacting concrete (SCC), also known as self-consolidating concrete, has concentrated on its rheological properties with non-evident reference to its actual applications in structural engineering projects. This chapter aims at providing the readers with applications of SCC in design and construction of precast and cast-in-place concrete structures as well as repair and strengthening of existing ones. It is first explained what makes SCC a suitable construction material for structures that are of innovative design, architecturally complex, and/or constructionally challenging.
