Editorial: The message is simple – the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport has again been recognised internationally for the quality and impact of the papers we publish. What I am referring to is the recent release of the Journal Impact Factors for 2014. Impact Factors are essentially a metric that describes the journal’s citation influence, and tend to be used vigorously by journals and their publishers to indicate esteem and to attract further high-quality papers.
