Ethics in the world of management? : making the case with critical theory

In the last decade or so, we have witnessed somewhat of a rivival of interest in critical theory. For example, special issues of journals have sought to link critical theory and management and a number of book publishers have commissioned volumes that will carry very recent translations of correspondence and hitherto unpublished papers of the founders of critical theory. The reasons for this revival of interest is open to some speculation. I have expressed the view that this revival is in large part a reaction to the turbulence that has been created by post modernist theorizing, such as that related, for instance, to the findings of noncritical management praxis surrounding the fall of Enron's world (Carr, 2005)
