Corporate citizenship

Management scholars have been studying relations between business and society since the 1950s. Under the broad topic of corporate social responsibility, more than 50 years of research have resulted in a plethora of frameworks, models, and taxonomies that describe the role of corporations in society. The term corporate citizenship entered the management lexicon in the late 1980s and appears to have become the dominant discourse in business–society relationships in the academic literature and business Press.
