Numerical analysis based on the finite element method is widely used to investigate the behaviour of Geosynthetic reinforced deep cement mixed (DCM) column supported embankments using conventional soil constitutive models. Most of them have only considered two-dimensional numerical modelling with drained or undrained strength parameters without incorporating the lime-dependent behaviour of these embankments with consolidation of soft soils. None of them have considered the strain softening behaviour of cement admixed soils beyond yielding. However three-dimensional numerical modelling incorporating above characteristics is important to understand the performance of these embankments under serviceability conditions.
