Employer dissatisfaction with graduate capabilities combined with an escalating skilled labour shortage has given rise to scrutiny of tourism and hospitality curriculum design in Australia. Higher education leaders currently perceive that an increased focus on capability development is required, with work-integrated learning (WIL) considered an approach to learning which supports this. This research project will explore perceptions of industry, students and academics in regards to the capabilities required for graduate roles.
