Student perceptions on the quality of economics and accounting education at UWS

The Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) is becoming increasingly important in processes and systems in assuring the quality of learning and teaching (L&T) outcomes. Australian university staff are now under increasing pressure to improve the CEQ outcomes of their units. Using the CEQ, student perception of the quality of economics and accounting education at the University of Western Sydney (UWS) are assessed over the period 1998-2008. Analyses are presented regarding good teaching and overall satisfaction. Also, the accounting and economics results of UWS are benchmarked against other universities. The connection between good teaching and overall satisfaction is explored and the value added by various changes over the last 11 years period is discussed
