Loosely synchronous (LS) spreading codes are part of the proposed multi-code LAS-CDMA (large area synchronous-code division multiple access) systems for the 3rd and 4th generation of CDMA. LS codes contain a zero-correlation zone (ZCZ) in the correlation properties. In this paper an analysis of spreading sequences performance in a first order full-time early-late delay lock tracking loops (ELDLL) is presented. It is shown that compared to m-sequences, LS codes show no advantage in terms of code tracking in an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) or a multipath environment
