To the Editor: We commend Chang and Ramnanan1 for their literature review of medical student experiences with scholarly research, commonly known as scholarly concentration (SC) programs. The authors highlight the need for a deeper understanding of the impact of research programs. However, much of the data reviewed is not recent and may not reflect current student experiences. Furthermore, there are opportunities to improve the ways in which such programs are critically evaluated
