This research explores the possibility of an outdoor education program as an effective tool to curb the normalcy of poor body image. To do so, the impacts of outdoor education programs on the self-efficacy and body image of adolescent girls are in question. A mixed methods inquiry collects and examines data using the General Self-Efficacy Scalei and the Objectified Body Consciousness Youth Scaleii, focus group sessions and participant photo interviews. Participants are 13-15 year adolescent girls in Year 8 and Year 9 in New South Wales, Australia, who participate in outdoor education programs offered through the co-curricular component of their school
