Allied Health (AH) consists of sub-communities (individual disciplines), excluding medical or nursing/midwifery. It is described as one of the pillars of the patient care workforce. However, traditional medical dominance and occupational prestige remain the key challenges faced by AH professionals in establishing their roles in the healthcare system.
