This article proposes to individuate some theoretical constants that characterize the crucial interpretations of the Prologue of John in the strict philosophical context of modernity and the contemporary era. Girard's famous discussion with Heidegger on Heraclitus' and John's Logos, can serve as the revealing hermeneutic grid for the analysis of such constants. The result of the investigation leads to the following question: is a post-metaphysical philosophical thinking possible that does not dwindle into deconstruction and that, at the same time, does not renounce thinking itself?
