One giant leap for jazz: the life and work of Roger Frampton is a practice-led research project comprising a treatment for a documentary film and an exegesis. The treatment explores the life of the musician, Roger Frampton (1948 – 2000), and his impact on Australian jazz. The exegesis examines the creative decision-making underlying this biographical process, given that I am Frampton’s daughter. Whilst complete in its current iteration as a Master of Research thesis, the study also lays the foundations for a doctorate, where the film will be produced and the exegesis expanded.
