Introduction: Subcutaneous emphysema happens when the compressed air is introduced in soft tissues from the facial plans through a discontinued intraoral barrier and it has been associated to some cases in consequence of dental treatments, like extraction of the third molar and endodontic treatments. The precocious diagnostics and the correct management are fundamental to the prevention of the injury progression and future complications, knowing that the emphysema can spread through deep facial plans of the neck, occasioning retropharyngeal emphysema, and, still can cause pneumothorax and pneumomediastinum.
