The purpose of the master´s thesis has been to apply the Aidan Chambers´ Tell me approach on the didactic project Let´s discover contemporary Slovenian children´s literature authors and their work and to determine the adequacy of its use in the first grade of primary school. The first part of the master´s thesis includes theoretical bases and explanations about didactics of children´s literature and its goals. In brief, I will introduce standards for choosing a literary work, phases of class interpretation and theories of reading interests from three authors: Joseph A.
