DNase activity of DNase I from bovine pancreas and B subunits of the bacterial cytotoxin CdtABC

DNase is an enzyme belonging to the endonuclease group. It is the most examined enzyme among endonucleases that degrades double-stranded DNA. In addition, DNase is used as a tool in molecular biology and for treating cystic fibrosis. Cytotoxins CdtABC are a group of protein toxins that are present in bacteria from the Proteobacteria family. Owing to their DNase activity, they are genotoxic to eukaryotic cells. The thesis compares the activity of an enzyme from the endonuclease group, i.e. bovine pancreatic endonuclease DNase I with the CdtB subunit from the bacteria Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcommitans.
