DNase is an enzyme belonging to the endonuclease group. It is the most examined enzyme among endonucleases that degrades double-stranded DNA. In addition, DNase is used as a tool in molecular biology and for treating cystic fibrosis. Cytotoxins CdtABC are a group of protein toxins that are present in bacteria from the Proteobacteria family. Owing to their DNase activity, they are genotoxic to eukaryotic cells.
