The need for a youth center in the municipality of Cerknica

In the thesis I explore the need for a youth center in the municipality of Cerknica. In the theoretical part the status of youth centers and youth work in Slovenia and the Law on the public interest in the youth sector is presented, also the thesis present preference of young people in the selection of leisure activities, in short it is also viewed youth engaging in volunteering and the scope of peer violence. Also the current situation in the municipality of Cerknica is described, statistical review of young people and proposals for the establishment of a youth center are presented. In the empirical part I present the research and its results. An anonymous survey of ninth grade students at an elementary school Jože Krajc Rakek and the eight classes of primary schools Jože Krajc Rakek and Notranjski odred Cerknica was made. The results showed that the pupils surveyed in the municipal schools suggest the need for establishing a youth center and an interest in becoming involved in the program of the center
