In our thesis we compared word comprehension in a hearing impaired student and his peers with normal hearing. The hearing impaired student is currently participating in a hearing impaired specialized program at a primary school with educational standards equivalent to those of regular primary schools. The differences in word comprehension were assessed by applying the semantic differential. We conducted a test which included four Slovene words: šola (school), vzorec (sample or pattern), mačka (cat) and prijateljstvo (friendship).
