The diploma thesis presents a stimulating environment as an important factor in child's development. In the theoretical part, a play is presented as a basic activity of a child through which he spontaneously passes on a role-playing game which is the basis of theatre activity. The child becomes accustomed to the roles in drama play or in puppet-show created by his spontaneous play. The adults recognize this spontaneous play and add the elements of theatre play to it. It is important to focus on the process and not on the final product. A stimulating environment is the environment that offers a place, the time and the means to a child for an independent research and learning.
