How pupils of the second triad in Obala-Kras region experience physical education

In my diploma paper I was establishing how pupils perceive physical education in the second triad in the Coast-Karst region. I defined the meaning of sports and physical education in the theoretical part. I focused on the meaning of family and teacher, who are key factors in encouraging physical activity. An important factor that leads us to participate in sports is definitely also motivation; therefore I dedicated some words in the theoretical part to it as well. I defined physical education in my diploma paper as a school subject and some children's developmental characteristics for age bracket of pupils attending the 2nd triad in primary school. Assessment of physical education and experiencing fear are included in the theoretical part as well. 415 pupils from the 2nd triad of seven different primary schools with a nine-year-program from the Coast-Karst region were included in research for the diploma paper. In my research I wondered whether physical education is popular among pupils as a school subject and who most frequently teaches physical education at class level in primary school. I also wondered whether pupils consider physical education to be a popular and important school subject for life. Pupils responded which sport is their favourite and which activities, connected with physical education, they like the best. With this research I wanted to find out what pupils do not like at physical education. I enquired whether pupils have an active break and what its popularity is. I wondered whether students are satisfied with grades at physical education and if they are afraid of assessment at physical education. The results showed interesting findings that physical education is a popular school subject, but pupils do not classify it among important subjects for life. The most popular sports are games with different balls and team sports. At physical education, pupils do not like dance, athletics and running. They are especially enthusiastic about being able to choose what they will be doing at physical education themselves. Among popular activities connected with physical education are outdoor school and sports day. Pupils at physical education also do not like angry teachers, punishment and shouting. Result showed that not all students have active breaks. The majority are satisfied with final grade at physical education and are not afraid of assessment
