Teaching English with puppet in the first triade

The use of puppets in teaching is no longer a mystery. More and more teachers accept and get to know its magnitude and impact on children s motivation. Through puppets, children subconsciously learn and acquire new words and sentence structures. By animating puppets and playing puppet shows pupils overcome obstacles in speaking a foreign language. That is why it is so welcomed in the classroom to teach English as a foreign language. In this thesis I have discussed the impact of puppets on pupils in English classroom. In the theoretical part I have focused on the theory of English as a foreign language, the puppets in general and on teaching a foreign language with a puppet. The last part is the most extensive and includes many practical tips that can help teachers to teach English with a puppet. The goal of the empirical work was to teach a foreign language with a puppet in the most interesting way, improve communication in English with a puppet, and use pupils to promote children's communication between teacher and pupils. I also wanted to investigate which English lesson they prefered, the ones with or the ones without a puppet. I performed a few lessons with a puppet and a few without one The overall conclusion is that the puppet is a strong motivational tool. All children preferred the lesson with the puppet. And all children spoke at least one word in English
