In the thesis I described the characteristics of attachment parenting. This is a way of education, which promotes breast-feeding, baby carrying, responding to his crying, joint sleeping, positive discipline and maintaining balance in the family. In the empirical part I presented the results of a research, which was used to find out what positions and educational principles have parents at the early stage and to what extent the educational practices base on principles of attachment parenting. The results were obtained with a questionnaire which was answered by 77 parents of children in the first age period. Many children were breastfed less than 6 months.
