Chemistry in the household

The purpose of this undergraduate thesis was to chose a series of simple chemical experiments, and incorporate them into curriculum for chemistry in grammar schools. I have chosen ten experiments, which I have performed in a laboratory. I have also made working sheets for pupils and learning preparations for teachers. By doing this project, my prime goal was to determine how dangerous and harmful are some chemicals, which are used in households. The second goal was to determine, if pupils can conduct these experiments by themselves. In the laboratory I have conducted the following experiments: BURNING OF PARAFFIN OIL, CITRIC ACID AND SODIUM BICARBONATE, BATTERIE MADE OF KIWI, SALT AND YEAST - OSMOSIS, SURFACE TENSION, INK AND WATER, BLEACH AND TOILET CLEANING CHEMICAL, BURNING OF METHANE, COPPER - IRON, CONDUCTIVITY. I have included three experiments for demonstration, the experiment “Burning of paraffin oil”, “Bleach and toilet cleaning chemical” and “Conductivity”
