Wayne Friday: Moscone was in my mind a true champion, the first as far as I’m concerned that I can think of who stuck out his neck for the Gay community. He was there for us. He was a true friend. After Harvey [Milk] got elected in 1977 he introduced some legislation that was a city legislation that said that you cannot discriminate in hiring against gays and lesbians in the city and county of San Francisco. That extended to everybody, and Wells Fargo to their credit was the first one to really make that thing work. They made it not only the San Francisco branches, but they made it nation-wide.
