Guest Editor's Introduction

[Extract] In December 2015, the 41st Conference on Social Theory, Politics & the Arts was held at the University of South Australia, in Adelaide, Australia. This was the first time in its 40-year history that this conference had been held in the Southern Hemisphere. During the conference, over 100 papers were presented covering all aspects of the arts, arts management, cultural policy, and the role of arts in society and the value we place upon it. This special issue presents six articles drawn fromthe presentations at the conference
