Electrolytes are electrical conducting materials in which ions, instead of electrons, are responsible for the electrical current. These materials are crucial parts for energy-storage devices and significant research effort is dedicated to achieving a better understanding of the ion-transport mechanisms in these materials. This work focuses on such types of electrolytes, where the ions are dissolved in a polar solvent and the polar solvent forms a dynamically disordered solid or liquid phase. Thus, these electrolytes exhibit both ionic and dipolar dynamics.
