A qualitative study on work life balance of school teachers in Lundu

This study aims to explore the way married female teachers cope with their multiple responsibilities at home, workplace and family demands. It is mainly focused on the factors influenced the work life balance they had been achieved as a wife, mother and a working women. Factors impacting on teacher's quality of life issues are paramount to investigate their family background, the problems at workplace, experiences and challenges they faced. The challenges discussed by the married female teachers included time-based conflict, strain-based conflict, time management, role ambiguity and workload. Hence, to conquer there are need to suggest remedial measure to improved married female teachers work life balance. The findings from this study was essential to increase awareness and concern of balancing life and work domain to ensure well-being and harmony of family. It was also found that supportive family and work family policies enhance their performance. This study used qualitative research to examine the challenges faced by married female teachers in their personal lives and workplace and find out the strategies or coping skills in maintain balance in work and family domain to fulfil their multiple roles
