A new species of the genus <i>Pontocypria</i> (Crustacea, Ostracoda), commensal of a lamellariid gastropod

Pontocypria coriocellae sp. n. is described from Papua New Guinea. The species was found inside the oral tube near the radula, of Coriocella nigra Blainville, 1824 (Gastropoda, Prosobranchia, Lamellariidae). Because of its morphology and its mode of life, the new species may be considered as an occasional commensal of its gastropod hosts. It is the first Pontocypria species to be found inside its host.
