Tackling antimicrobial resistance requires a coordinated ‘One Health’ approach involving human and animal health and environmental stakeholders. Participants at the Society’s Focused Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance and One Health discussed how to better inform One Health policy with science. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a common challenge for health, agri-food and environmental sectors. In 2016, United Nations member states agreed to develop "multi-sectoral national action plans, programmes and policy initiatives, in line with a One Health approach and the global action plan on antimicrobial resistance”
