In this thesis I explore how people form and are affected by judgments about objects, people, and categories. In particular, I show how the implications are affected by the level of aggregation; both for human judgment and the analysis of the same. Chapter one presents my analysis of how people form evaluative judgments about categories based on their experiences with category members. Chapter two presents computational and experimental evidence on how generalization within and across categories affects choice in an exploitation/exploration setting.
