Avaliação de diferentes instrumentos de níquel - titânio no preparo de canais ovais: um estudo por microtomografia computadorizada

Successful endodontic treatment depends on the cleansing and modeling of the root canal system. In the daily clinical routine, we may come across teeth that have an oval-shaped root canal. The anatomical complexity of the long oval and oval canals remains a major challenge since during the use of rotary systems there is a tendency for the instrument to remain in the center of the canal, which does not allow adequate preparation in the vesicular-dibular dimension. lingual. Given the above, the objective of this study was to compare two mechanized instrumentation systems (Hyflex and Reciproc Blue) in distal roots of mandibular molars with conformation of the oval canal, in relation to the percentage of areas not previously prepared by computed microtomography (micro- CT). Forty lower molars were selected by means of mesiodistal radiographs and preoperative micro-CT images. After the first scan, foraminal patency and determination of working length were performed. The teeth were paired in two groups (n = 20) according to the system to be employed: Hyflex CM and Reciproc blue. The auxiliary chemical used was 5.25% sodium hypochlorite. After the preparation, the teeth were re-scanned by mi-cro-CT, using the same acquisition parameters as the first scan. They were then reconstructed three-dimensionally and evaluated for unprepared walls. The data were submitted to statistical analysis and analyzed through the generalized linear model (GLM), considering the value of P <0.05, where it was verified that the Reciproc Blue system had a larger variation for both volume and area, not demonstrating significant differences in the percentage of unprepared areas.Um tratamento endodôntico bem sucedido depende da limpeza e mo- delagem do sistema de canais radiculares.
