The dissertation presented as parcial requirement for completion of Professional Master in Management and Public Education Evaluation, Federal University of Juiz de Fora adresses the actions taken by Education Secretariat of Rio de Janeiro, in response to conflict and violence in the school. The research is justified on the grounds that the conflict and violence in the school settings is a factor that weakens the school social function of enabling the full development of the individual and recognizing that skill ability to manage it and solve it is so educational and essential as any discipline curriculum.
