Bond strength evaluation of the adhesive systems after desensitizer agents in human dentin

The aim of study was evaluate the microtensile bond strength of the total etch (Single Bond II, SB) and self-etch adhesive systems (Clearfil SE Bond, SE) in human dentin after desensitizer agents. Disks were obtained from human third molars, which had their oclusal enamel removed to expose flat dentin surface. Six groups were formed according to the materials used: G1 (control)- hybridization with SB, G2- oxalate desensitizer (BisBlock, BB) and SB, G3- fluoride desensitizer (Aqua Prep F, AF) and SB, G4 (control)- hybridization with SE, G5- BB and SE, G6- AF and SE. On these surfaces were made blocks of composite Filtek Z350 of 5 mm to obtain “sticks” 10x1x1 mm. The specimens were stored in deionized water at 37°/ 24 h and subjected to microtensile testing 1 mm/min until fracture. The images were observed in MEV. The results were analyzed ANOVA two-way and Tukey test (p<0,05). The mean values of the groups in MPa were: G2- 46.48(8.04), G3- 44.87(11.26), G5- 39.02 (13.45), G4-36.95(7.14), G1- 36.66(10.84) and G6- 32.71(13.83) which showed no statistically significant difference between groups (p =0.012). It can be concluded that the combined use the desensitizers and adhesive systems in human dentin etched there is no influence on bond strength.O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar a resistência da união à microtração dos sistemas adesivos convencional (Single Bond II, SB) e autocondicionante (Clearfil SE Bond, SE) em dentina humana condicionada após a aplicação de agentes dessensibilizantes. Foram utilizados discos obtidos de terceiros molares humanos hígidos, os quais tiveram o esmalte oclusal removido para exposição de superfícies planas de dentina média. Seis grupos foram formados, de acordo com os materiais utilizados: G1 (controle) – hibridização com SB; G2 - dessensibilizante à base de oxalato (BisBlock, BB) e SB; G3 - dessensibilizante à base de fluoreto (Aqua Prep F, AF) e SB; G4 (controle) – hibridização com SE; G5 – BB e SE; G6 – AF e SE.
