This dissertation has analysed in which way school time increase has been understood through Integral Education concepts in two schools of Pernambuco State System, situated in Metropolitan Region of Recife, both with similar social economic contexts. That is the point which guides the proposals of Mais Educação Program (PME), created in 2007 as part of the Plan for Education Development and implemented since 2008 in Brazil, objectifying to encourage the pedagogical practices developed during the latter years of Fundamental Education (Middle/Junior High School).
